Tessy Automation Welcomes New Managing Director
Meadville, Pa., Dec. 1, 2023 – Tessy Automation is excited to announce the appointment of Thomas Rock as the new Managing Director, ushering in a new era of leadership and innovation.
Rock brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the company’s operations and values. His leadership was instrumental in implementing a controlled inventory system, supporting significant safety stock levels and achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification for the organization in 2020. His promotion to Director of Operations in 2022 was a testament to his ability to lead, innovate, and drive operational excellence.
“Both NuTec and Tessy gave me an opportunity at times when I would not have assumed I was a viable candidate. They have allowed me the opportunity to grow well beyond what I thought I was capable of at that time. I am committed to returning the favor, leading Tessy Automation into a future marked by innovation, excellence, and continued success,” Rock said.
Rock started his journey at Tessy Automation in 2012 as a purchasing agent where he quickly demonstrated a strong aptitude for learning and leadership. His proactive approach to self-education and professional development enabled him to take on increasing responsibility and have a profound impact on the company.
Rock played a pivotal role in the selection and implementation of the Jobscope ERP system as a purchasing manager and became the go-to expert for training and implementation. His commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization was evident as he took on the role of project manager for contract manufacturing, emphasizing customer service and effective communication.
With a strong educational background from Gannon University, Rock is well-equipped to lead Tessy Automation into the future. Outside of the office, he is a dedicated participant in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts programs helping prepare young people for the future, reflecting his commitment to the local community.
Rock takes on the role of Managing Director after a dedicated and fruitful career from his predecessor, Bruce Courtney, who retired in September. Courtney’s tenure was marked by exceptional leadership and Tessy Automation is deeply grateful for his years of service and the lasting impact his career has had on Tessy Automation. As he enters into well-deserved retirement, Tessy Automation is confident that Rock will continue Courtney’s commitment to excellence in the coming years.
